Willamette Falls Pinniped-Fishery Interaction Task Force

NOAA Fisheries announced that it is convening the Willamette Falls Pinniped-Fishery Interaction Task Force. The purpose of the task force is to evaluate the state of Oregon’s October 6, 2017, application, and to provide NOAA Fisheries with a recommendation to either approve or deny the state of Oregon’s application requesting authorization under Section 120 of the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) to lethally remove predatory California sea lions in the vicinity of Willamette Falls to minimize pinniped predation on threatened and endangered salmonids in the Willamette River.

The meeting is open to the public who may attend in-person or call in. A specific time slot will be provided on the agenda for the public to provide comments or information for the Task Force to consider.
