This Plan is still in process and only in draft form. The Mendocino Company, Habitat Conservation Plan, will cover forest land management on approximately 200,000 acres of forestlands in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties in California for an 80 year term. This plan would be a multi-species agreement including the coverage of 4 ESA listed species of salmonids. The draft plan and associated National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents were made available for public comment in late 2012. Over 500 separate comments were received through 36 different individuals and organizations. Public comment period for this plan is closed at this time. At present, NOAA Fisheries, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Cal-Fire, and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife are working together to respond to public comments.
