S.E. Alaska Fisheries biological opinion (2019)

NOAA Fisheries has completed a new biological opinion that provides Endangered Species Act (ESA) incidental take coverage for specified Southeast Alaska (SEAK) salmon fisheries in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone managed under delegated authority to the State of Alaska. The opinion analyzes effects of proposed U.S. domestic actions associated with the new 2019-2028 Pacific Salmon Treaty Agreement on Endangered Species Act (ESA)-listed species such as Puget Sound Chinook salmon stocks and Southern Resident killer whales.  We conclude that these proposed actions are not likely to jeopardize the survival of the ESA-listed species.
