Pacific Coast Groundfish Fishery Management Plan Amendment 28

NOAA Fisheries has received FMP Amendment 28 from the Pacific Fishery Management Council and is issuing an implementing proposed rule to change bottom trawl fishing closures relating to conservation of Essential Fish Habitat (EFH), re-open historically important fishing grounds, and close deep waters off California to protect deep-sea corals from bottom-contacting gears.

The Office of the Federal Register placed the proposed rule for Amendment 28 on the public inspection desk on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 and it will publish in the Federal Register on Thursday, August 15, 2019.  Public comments are due by September 16, 2019.
