Gray Whale Identification Tips

Dorsal Fin: NO dorsal fin, often see 8-14 "knuckles" or vertebrae
Fluke: smooth and pointed flukes
Size: adults are 39-46 ft and weigh ~15-39 tons
Color: mottled gray often with orange patches of whale lice or white patches of barnacles
