Species of Concern Grant Opportunities

We provide two annual funding opportunities to a support voluntary conservation efforts for species identified as "species of concern." The goal of these funding opportunities is to conserve marine and freshwater species so that listing under the Endangered Species Act is not necessary.

Proactive Species Conservation Grant Program

The Proactive Species Conservation Grant Program provides federal assistance in the form of grants and cooperative agreements. Eligible applicants are state, tribal, or local governments that have regulatory or management authority over one or more species of concern or over activities that affect one or more species of concern.
