Voices from the Fisheries at Lake Ozette

In 2012, we received a Fisheries Education grant to engage middle or high school students with their community in regards to salmon recovery. Our vision was to inspire students to learn from the people in their community working with salmon, highlight recovery efforts and what that means for the fish, the watershed and their community. We were honored to be working with schools surrounding the Lake Ozette Basin on Washington's outer coast and are now looking forward to expanding these efforts throughout our region. The grant allows us to loan video cameras and iPads to classrooms interested in this project.

Please contact wcr.education@noaa.gov if you are interested in a similar project in your watershed.
